THE THREE PROFOUND COMMANDMENTS

Image
THE THREE PROFOUND COMMANDMENTS BOB As a child growing up there were three commandments of the Bible I was made to memorise. I wasn’t bothered with the third. If I should be concerned, it was with the first two. The first is love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. The second is like unto the first, love your neighbour as you love yourself and the third is husband love your wife as Christ loves the church and gave his life for it. Later in life I gave them my own tag, the three profound commandment of love. There is something that amazes me and the same time bothers of the three commandment. They demand something beyond the ordinary from anyone who is concerned with them. As a child I was not really concerned with any. I was only excited memorising them. This does not mean as a child I didn’t fight or quarrel with other kids in my neighbourhood – I did. But I wasn’t told I needed the “the love your neighbour as yourself” comm...

MANAGING YOUR THOUGHTS - a series

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life . The chapter past was important, it’s the foundation of the subject in this book. It’s necessary you take care of chapter one else the rest of the chapters might not profit you. Nevertheless, I still encourage you to read on, may be some light may come to your heart and then you can profit. There are five senses. Among them are the sense of hearing and seeing. The ears and eyes are the major gateway to the mind. Every matter that borders around the human mind finds their way majorly by the sense of seeing and hearing. How the human minds works is really amazing – your mind. Your mind is a portion of your soul majorly. Your body needs food for survival, your spirit needs the word of God, and your mind (soul) needs thought. Your mind can’t be blank. Yes, not even when you’re sleeping. In essence my friends, you can’t stop your mind from having thoughts. You can only decide what kind of t...
You must be born again Brother this I’d not have you fret. This is not optional, it is a must.  You must be born again. How true this statement. “Hay bro you’re making all these sound churchy and spiritual”, yes. A problem has no physical root but a spiritual one. Okay, listen and hear things out.  Nature has a way of helping us. Whenever we have a serious hit – a big problem people naturally go away from us. This implicitly means fix yourself first and then we shall return. As earlier hinted, people leaving you does not mean they are hard hearted. When you’re desolated, emptied and everything taken away leaving only just you to fate then ‘you are born again’ you never thought about this. It’s a serious issue that you must be born again, it is not a spontaneous process, but a conscious step you must take. There are people; things one must eliminate from life to survive the storm. The solution gate of many problems are design to be so narrow that you must be just you to pa...

God’s formula for solving problems

In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth. 2   And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen 1:1-2 Friends there’re many things we don’t know of. There is a God in heaven. Don’t let some so called believe blind you. No one is trying to talk you out of your religion or believe. You’ve to see for yourself that some things are not just working and you need to change ground. You’re not born with any religion or believe. Why on earth will you watch your life go down to destruction in name of holding on to some unworthy practices? Enough! It doesn’t worth it. Back to our opening passage. We see that God was face with three challenges: a formless, empty, and dark earth. The next thing we see is the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. We’d not know how long the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters but we know that didn’t bring about a rec...

HIS BIRTH – A PROPER CHILD After the seven years of Jacob’s service in Haran in the house of Laban his mother’s brother, Leah was given to him instead of Rachel; but for the love he had for Rachel, he decided to serve another seven years so as to be given Rachel to wife. Through this seven years Leah was barren. 31   And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. Leah gave birth to four children, the name of the last being Judah after which she was satisfy. Gen 29:35” 35   And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord : therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.” The birth of Judah was that through which gave glory to God. His life is to be meant for God’s praise. Men will see his living and give glory to God. Men will literally praise the man through whom they can glorify God. Gen 49:8 ” 8   Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise.” In the Jacob’s prophecy, ‘t...
