IT’S JUST LIFE - DEALING WITH FINANCIAL LOSS

Sam walked up and down his room, sat down then walk to the window starring at just nothing with his thoughts over the last investment he’d made. ‘where did I get it wrong, perhaps I shouldn’t have done it’. He’d loss huge amount in an investment due to unforeseen circumstances.  It’s been days now yet the cut of his financial loss was still fresh. It affected a lot, from his mode to his appetite, productivity and relationship. It was just unbearable and also considering the economic recession in the country. The question is what should Sam do?

Losing money can be as painful as losing a love one – yes. Especially considering the circumstances surrounding that money. It could really hurt. Financial lose can happen to anyone. Ones it’s business then there is 100% guarantee you get your money back. Even farmers don’t. we plant and go to bed praying that it works. At some point in Lincoln’s life he had failed in business severally. Others had also. Multimillionaire business man like Trump had gone into debt doing business. Well, what do we say or do when things of this nature happens? ‘it’s just life’. You could say ‘theirs is not mine, mine is different’. It is true as you think. But there are those, countless people who had lost everything and had to start over. If that’s your case, then you’re not alone. Something is sure there is someone out there whose case is worse than yours who will still get up and get going. You didn’t lose your life and that’s your capital (your asset). It’s undeniable that financial loss can be cause setbacks. But the good news is it can also bring about a turn around. It all depends on how you want to deal with it. just let it go and get going. Stop counting the losses and stop looking back- it will get hold of you. you don’t have to destroy every other thing in your life when it is game over. It is not life over! Pick up your pieces and set out for business. If you don’t kill yourself over it no one will. Don’t kill yourself. it happened to Isaac (Gen 26:15). It also happened to Job – He was good man, off course. Well, you could say that’s a different thing. A loss is loss. It doesn’t matter how and to who it happens.
This is not some nice words to stop you from weeping. There is blessing in mourning (matt 5:4). So you do it. preferably, it is to comfort you. if you do agree. The bottom line is ‘get back to business’. This is what the preacher has to say cast your bread upon the waters: for you shall find it after many days. Give a portion to seven and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
Maybe yours is not due to business. Maybe your money just got stolen, or fire outbreak. It is still the same. You can’t separate losses from life: Loss of money, time. relationship, love ones, resources, job and so on. So what’s next? Get your paper and pen. Make some plans reach out to people, and go plant your seed. Then pray the father to send the rain. He would. He would bless your bread and butter. It is a different situation when you don’t have a relationship with the father – that means you got to know Jesus (Jn 14:6). There is always hope if you can get back to the father. And sure you can. Game over? It’s just life.
